Haven't enjoyed my youth and in denial that its over........?
Not sure where to start, anyway Im a 25 y old man. I would say for the last 10 years I've had low confidence, self esteem issues which has prevented me frmo enjoying my life and I am struggling to come to terms with the fact that most of my youth is over now and its time to grow up as I only feel now I am getting some confidence. I am currently unemployed after doing an Economics degree and have never had a girlfriend. Anyway, the reason for my solf confidence issues is I have a large nose which doesn't suit me and keloid scarring on my chest and shoulders. Besides this I guess I am happy with myself as Im tall and dark etc. and have nice hair and eyes supposedly. I didn't enjoy uni as my 'mates' used to call me jew nose and I never got much female attention. So I got a 2.2 in my degree due to my depression which has completely diminished my job prospects. I find myself unable to move on and refuse to accept I have been through uni and all I have to do is get married in a few years and life is downhill from there, all my money I earn will go on my wife and children and thats it. I just feel so angry and bitter all the time, just that I didn't have a good time at uni especially and want to just commit suicide. Every moment of every day I have tension in my shoulders etc. due to stress of regrets etc. I am unable to change my nose much due to the structure and have extensive treatment on my scars with little effect. I just don't know what to do anymore

I get stressed and forget all the answers when i see the test paper? 10points.?
Before exams i get stressed. too stressed that i get sick right before exams. But i don't have a problem with any test except the Math test. at home i study ,and practice each formula and try to understand them as well as memorizing them and when the test paper is infront of me i just forget everything. A friend of mine had the same problem and went to a shrink and got some medication and now he's doing well at math. I've told both my parents and my teacher, my father just blamed me of not studying and my math teacher told me to stop masturbating, but i don't masturbate that much. Any ways i could get over this..?

8 Ways to Make Technology Less Stressful

30 Apr 2011 at 1:48pm  Photo credit: Summer Beretsky Whatever you do, DO NOT think of an elephant right now! Seriously. Don’t think about elephants, or big floppy elephant ears, or elephants at circuses, or elephants in the wild. Now, be honest: you totally just thought of an elephant. Didn’t you? That’s exactly how I felt all week when I tried to stay away from the internet. When I opted to spend a week away from the internet and other technological devices, I expected my brief affair with the IRL (“in real life”) world to whisk me away into romantic oblivion. Sadly, that was not the case. Instead, I spent a lot of offline time thinking about the technology that I was sorely missing…and about the stress it invites into my life. The constantly-updating Twitter feeds, the myri...

When Physical Exercise Feels Just Like A Panic Attack

14 Apr 2011 at 7:22pm  Photo credit: Thomas Hawk I’ve had more honest-to-goodness panic attacks in my life than I can count. And by “honest-to-goodness”, I mean the real deal: racing heart, palpitations, nausea, dizziness, shortness of breath, incredibly unsolicited surges of adrenaline…and so on. Simultaneously. Many people — from friends to doctors — told me to start exercising. My friends said it would reduce my stress and help me to sleep better at night. The University of Georgia says it can reduce my anxiety. My doctor told me that getting in shape will reduce heart palpitations and increase my lung capacity. True, true, and true. But here’s the big Catch-22 that kept me from following everyone’s good advice: exercising made me panic. And why? Well, a body ...

5 Ways to Better Cope with Stress

7 Apr 2011 at 12:35pm  When trying to manage stress, Richard Blonna, Ed.D — a nationally certified coach and counselor and author of Stress Less, Live More — said that many people mistakenly look for a Band-Aid approach. They look for one approach to work with all stressors in all situations at all times. But realistically you can’t rely on one technique. For instance, diaphragmatic breathing is an effective stress reliever but you might not want to use it in a certain situation because you’re feeling self-conscious and don’t want to bring attention to yourself, he said. Similarly, while Blonna is a big believer in meditation, he said it doesn’t work if you’re stuck in traffic, since it’s dangerous to close your eyes. Instead, “What we need is a toolbox that’s full of techniques tha...
