Natural Anxiety Remedy - FAQs On Anxiety
Everyone has suffered from anxiety at one time or another in their lives. Anxiety is a normal, natural emotion experienced by most human beings. I remember suffering strange symptoms during a very stressful period in my life. These ranged from palpitations to a feeling of numbness in my legs plus numerous other symptoms which were sometimes hard to define. Why does it affect us so much? Anxiety is the feeling of worry, apprehension, fear and/or panic in response to situations which seem overwhelming, threatening, unsafe or uncomfortable. And our reaction is our body s way of alerting us that some kind of action is needed in a threatening or dangerous situation. Anxiety is an extremely necessary mechanism, without anxiety we would be at risk.
There are different types of anxiety separation anxiety and social anxiety. Separation anxiety disorder is a psychological condition in which an individual has excessive anxiety regarding separation from home or from people to whom the individual has a strong emotional attachment (like a mother). Studies show that children suffering from separation anxiety are much more likely to have ADHD, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, and others later in life. Social anxiety is the fear and anxiety of being judged and evaluated by other people.
We fear our peers! People with social anxiety know that their anxiety is irrational and does not make logical sense. Social anxiety is many times mixed up with panic disorder. People with panic disorder many times go to hospital emergency rooms, because they feel there is something medically and physically wrong with them. High rates of alcoholism and other substance abuse, family difficulties and problems, lack of personal relationships, and difficulty in obtaining and continuing with employment are among the everyday problems experienced by many people with social anxiety disorder.
