CO, respectively. The engine operates with a stoichiometric gasolineair

i) Find the average concentrations, in parts per million, of NOx, HC
and CO in the engine exhaust. (Assuming the molar mass of the
exhaust gas is 28.7; the molar mass of NOx and HC are 30 and 14,
respectively.)

catalytic convertor is used with the engine. For 10% of
the driving time, the catalyst is cold and ineffective, and does not
reduce engine emissions. For 90% of the time, the catalyst is hot
and has conversion efficiencies of 83%, 91% and 95% for NOx,
HC and CO respectively. Estimate the average vehicle emissions
of NOx, HC and CO in g per mile.
