How To Stop Anxiety Attacks From Happening To You
From time to time, the feeling of anxiety can harm us. There are certain commonly occurring things, which can cause us to feel anxious such as job performance, upcoming tests, the well-being and behavior of a child or certain patterns of our behavior. Most people feel anxiety occasionally but there are some people who are so affected by anxiety that they start changing their behavior in order to cope with anxiety. Although these changes might be better in some cases e.g. if a person is anxious about his/her weight and starts eating healthier and starts exercising then it might be beneficial for him/her. This helps to stop anxiety attacks. But sometimes, these changes may occur in a negative way as some people may start to not participate in things they commonly enjoy doing.
Anxiety attacks or disorders can cause sleeplessness, can cause a person to overmedicate themselves with drink, sex, food, and can also cause behavior avoidance. The person suffering from anxiety may also find difficulty in maintaining relationships. Anxiety can lead to a panic attack in severe cases and people find it difficult to stop these attacks. Many people while suffering from the anxiety attacks may feel like they are experiencing a heart attack or feel like they are dying. A person may find it difficult to sleep at night and this is considered to be an overwhelming negative effect on his/her life.
However, there are number of ways to stop anxiety attacks. It's a good idea to seek help if these problems are making you sleepless at night, changing the way you live, causing panic attacks or these problems are becoming persistent. The first thing that you can do is to see a therapist who can greatly help you in stopping anxiety attacks. Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is one of the chief advocated methods that can be used to stop anxiety attacks. Anxiety may cover the core beliefs or deep sadness or traumatic events. CBT helps to understand what is behind anxiety and it has proven an effective treatment for many people.
When therapy alone is not sufficient to stop anxiety then you may be suffering from panic disorders or anxiety disorders. You can seek the help of a psychiatrist who can provide you mediation that regulates brain chemicals, which cause anxiety attacks. CBT and medication when used together can work efficiently in order to stop anxiety attacks.
By talking to a friend, parents, or a school counselor; a mild feeling of anxiety can be stopped. This method can help you understand how to tackle mild anxiety. If you are not able to work and want to sit in your room then anxiety will not diminish rather it will worsen your condition. You can stop anxiety attacks or similar feelings by using some of these methods we have listed.
The first thing you can do is to avoid overeating and eat healthy diet so that you can calm anxiety. Secondly, do not use illegal drugs or indulge in drinking, as it will only worsen your condition.
