Can You Really End Panic Attacks for Good?

Many people who get panic attacks feel like their life is basically over. They feel out of control and possibly even like they are dying. If that is how you feel, you might seriously doubt there is any way you can end these panic attacks. Fortunately, if you have the right methods, you CAN eliminate the panic and live your life again. Put your doubt aside right now, and grasp onto this hope

The first thing you need to do is take stock of your symptoms. People suffer from different symptoms, and your treatment plan might differ depending on the ones who you are dealing with. If you are seeking the advice of a doctor, you should tell your doctor what symptoms you are experiencing so they can help you end your panic attacks.

After you have evaluated your symptoms, you need to do some research. Research what works for other people by joining forums that discuss panic attacks. You definitely don't want to focus on negative threads - focus on positive threads where people have found their answer. There are tons of people who have successfully banished their panic for good and it can be motivating for you to read their stories.

It's also a good idea to read books and e-books written by people who have been in your situation. There are many great techniques out there that have worked for thousands of people. By reading about these methods, you can further perfect your own personalized plan to end your panic attacks. Some of these techniques are even downloadable, which is important when you need this information as soon as possible.

Another thing you might want to do is join a support group. Knowing that there are other people going through the same thing can actually help you get through it all. You feel like you're not alone and that you're not going crazy - this is a true disorder that you can end with some effort.

At this point, you probably have a good grasp on what your symptoms are as well as different methods you can try to eliminate your panic attacks. Not all the methods will work for you, so you need to read through them and find the ones that will! After you've done that, it's time to create a plan for getting rid of your panic attacks. Take note of what you can do in the short term as well as the long-term so you can start to feel better.

Is it hard to navigate Laguardia airport alone?
I'm 29 and I've traveling from Laguardia airport to Orlando, FL all along and I'm scared. Not the plane ride there as I have traveled on many flights before. But just navigating through Laguardia airport scares me. I feel like I'm gonna get lost. I have a learning disability and I have severe panic attacks. My dad is dropping me off, would he be able to go in there with me to help me find my flight? I really wish I could go with my mom to Westchester County airport and take that flight with her, but now that it's so late, the ticket will be more money. So my dad is gonna drop my mom off to take her plane in Westchester County and then drive me to the one in Laguardia. Ugh! I really want to go to Florida! But this is scaring me. As I type this, my hands are getting sweaty. What do I do? Now as I'm looking through the flights for Laguardia in the morning. They have none left! Now I def. have to pay more for the one in Westchester County. Decided now not to go. Because I would have to pay $100 a day to get into Disney World, then pay for the room. I'll go some other time when my whole family decides to go. It's disappointing. My mom should've asked me sooner. But she didn't think I would want to go. Hello? It's Disney World! Of course I would want to go!

Can someone give me anxiety meds advice?
So basically, in November 2011 I started suffering from severe panic attacks and insomnia. I couldn't eat and was constantly tense and anxious. My chest was tight, and I was constantly irritated and was prone to freaking out over nothing. This gradually got worse and worse over the next few months, especially during the times I was menstruating. I tried everything I could to relieve myself of the crippling anxiety and get to sleep. I started taking a walk every morning, doing yoga in the evening, stopped drinking coffee and alcohol, stopped eating sugar...I mean I changed my entire lifestyle and still I was getting worse and starting to feel less and less like a person...I tried St. John's Wort, 5htp, valerian root and melatonin for sleep, but nothing worked. I started becoming really depressed and felt like I was going nuts. LONG story short, it turns out I was having a bad reaction to my IUD (birth control) and I had it taken out. I felt better once it was gone, but a few day later I had a "crash" from the hormones being gone from my body and I had the most intense mood swings and anxiety of my life. It felt like an overwhelming chemical sadness...it came on like a wave and only lasted a few minutes at a time but it was unbearable and made me think I might hurt myself, not to mention I was NOT functioning and I have a 16 month old toddler to take care of. I was also constantly nauseous and dizzy. My mom took me to the hospital because I finally caved and said I needed meds NOW. I had been reluctant to take anything until now because I didn't want to be dependent on anything, but I couldn't cope anymore and I couldn't care for my baby. I was prescribed Ativan at the hospital (only 6 pills! Luckily I have an appointment to be seen for my panic attacks tomorrow.) and it seems to be working. I took one before bed the night I got them and I slept pretty good. I took half of one the next morning and it made me feel calm all day. My question is whether or not this is something I should be taking every day? Also, can anyone with similar symptoms let me know what works for them? Thanks!
