Symptoms of Anxiety Disorder - How Do You Know If You're Having One?
By the time you finish reading this you will be able to identify some of the typical symptoms that a person with anxiety disorder has. The symptoms of anxiety disorder can be emotional and/or physical. Emotional symptoms consist of certain negative moods or behaviors, while physical symptoms alter the way your body functions.
If you experience any of these symptoms, you should discuss what you're feeling with your doctor. This article will give you a good idea what you should be watching for, and what you can tell your physician.
Emotional Symptoms of Anxiety Disorder
Some anxiety disorder symptoms are purely emotional. Rather than changing the way your body feels, these symptoms are more like persistent moods or predictable reactions. They don't necessarily center on fear or anxiety.
Common emotional anxiety disorder symptoms include irritability and constantly feeling "on edge". People suffering anxiety disorder symptoms often seem only one stressful event away from some sort of breakdown.
Physical Symptoms of Anxiety Disorder
Sometimes anxiety disorder symptoms can affect you physically. It goes beyond mood or feelings. Functioning of bodily systems is actually changed.
You may find yourself shaking or trembling. An extremely fast heartbeat is a common symptom. Your racing heart is often accompanied by shortness of breath, a feeling that you can't get enough oxygen.
How To Deal with Anxiety Disorder
If you believe that you are suffering from anxiety disorder, you should see your family doctor. First of all, there may be a physical reason why you were experiencing these symptoms. A visit to your normal doctor is the best place to start.
Once they have ruled out physical causes, your physician may choose to start you on anti-anxiety or antidepressant medications. If these don't make things better, you may be referred to a specialist.
You could also try therapy or counselling to cope with your anxiety disorder. You may be more comfortable with alternative treatment methods or natural remedies.
In Conclusion
Whatever treatment you choose, it's important to try something. Even if your symptoms of anxiety disorder are purely emotional, they still have a very real negative effect on your life. Physical symptoms can be even worse.
Your doctor is able to help you deal with these symptoms and it's important to start right away. Don't allow embarrassment to keep you from talking about it and don't just assume it will go away.

I don't know anymore. Help?
After school today, I had a really sharp pain on one side of my face..It included the side of my head, my eye, my teeth...it stops then comes back again but it's bad..sometimes i feel it on the other side of my face...but it's not so bad...Can this be just a regular migrane from my eye or lack of sleep? Or can this possibly be a brain tumor of some sort. I also experience dizziness sometimes, twitching muscles, and anxiety disorder symptoms. Please help if you have an idea. Thanks
