Driving Anxiety is not an ailment. It is a condition, where a person driving a vehicle suddenly gets anxious and starts panicking, to the extent of passing out - in extreme cases. Now the big question is "do you suffer from driving anxiety"?

We all experience anxiety while driving, sometime or the other in adverse traffic situations. Causes of driving anxiety
Studies have revealed that there may be multiple reasons leading to anxiety while driving. In most cases it is seen that the patient suffering from driving anxiety must have had or seen a car wreck very closely. And it is the impact of the incident that has jolted the senses to the extent that the incident is flashed back as soon as he/she sits behind the wheels. There are also cases when a person experiences driving anxiety attacks, even when someone else drives the car too.

Evaluate - What is causing anxiety: This is the foremost task to be done to get rid of driving anxiety. Find out the potential reasons that are causing anxiety while driving. It may be correlated to an emotional scar caused due to an accident you have witnessed or suffered; new to driving and do not trust your skills, etc. Once your fear factor is evaluated, your therapist can guide you to think positively to overcome driving anxiety.
Make yourself comfortable: It is essential that you make yourself comfortable in your car as you are set to drive it. Studies have shown that being comfortable diminishes the anxiety levels to a large extent especially in cases of anxiety driving. Also, make sure that you have all the necessary things required in case you are stuck in traffic for long hours, face a breakdown, injury, etc. Carrying an extra tyre for your car, first aid box, some food, water and chocolates can give you that sense of security to overcome any eventualities.
Drive nearby with a Friend: You can ask a friend to accompany you when driving; as talking with another person beside you can be relaxing and help you overcome the anxiety and fear of driving. Also, start building your confidence by driving in nearby lanes and not so busy neighborhood roads, before you get overcome driving anxiety.

My dad is trying to make me take my meds?
I have tried to take meds for awhile now but every time they overall make it worse. I just got prescribed this stuff (forgot the name) and it makes me unberably tired, it's supposed to calm my anxiety but it doesn't. It makes me so tired i can barley think.
I believe my prob is that when i was younger i had a stressful childhood (not getting into that too much), and had to constantly worry to keep myself safe & had to think like that to be okay. Now i removed myself from that situation but my anxiety level is still crazy & has only got worse & worse because i keep fighting it, but my brain is like why are you fighting this...just trying to help!! But it's making it worse & causing more anxiety cause there isn't a threat anymore & it's just used to it, or something like that.
Isn't that what therapists do? Find out your problem, why you have it, and rehibilitate you? Well i got 2 down, and i have the linden method-which teaches me other stuff & i have a few of my own things i can try.
So...do you think it's wrong my dad is trying to shove pills down my throat when i could get better on my own? He thinks i can't cause he used to have driving anxiety and still does a little, but he says take the pills you'll be better. I told him, that's you not me. Myn is different from yours-im prone to it since all my aunts & dad have anxiety, and my mom is crazy. So no wonder i have issues lol but it's not chemically caused im sure of that. It's a way of thinking & i know my own mind and have figured out mostly how it works.
Do you think he has the right to try and force me to take them? Cause i don't...my body...my mind...my f u c k i n g choice right?
im almost 17 & i don't want to go see a therapist, i've bought a program that is supposed to help me get over it completely, which medication will never do.
Meds are only going to aggrivate it cause my brain is just trying to help me, not attack me & i know that now...also feel a lot better since.
Me and my dad arnt touchy feely so im not going to explain why & everything, he just needs to be like okay do what you think will work. He needs to lay off i think, yes i know he's trying to help but maybe he should step in my shoes for 5 mins and see if he doesn't pass out.

21, Never Had A Girlfriend Before And I Want One. How Do I Start Dating?
So here it is, I have no experience involving the ladies. I have social anxiety disorder and it makes it really hard for me to go after a woman I like. I get really nervous when attractive women talk to me and I end up saying something stupid or nothing at all. I remember back in high school when my friends would attempt to hook me up with someone but I would always make up an excuse to not talk to her or hide somewhere until my friends left, so yeah its really bad. I want to make a change but I have too many insecurities like for instance I don't have my license and I don't know how to drive (Anxiety problem), I live with my grandparents, I have zero friends, I work 40+ hours a week so I have little time for anything, and I live in a majority Hispanic/White neighborhood (I'm black) so i find it hard relating to other races (I'm from an majority black community and just moved here a year ago). The only thing I do when i'm not working is surfing the internet and playing xbox, but still that gets boring after a while. I'm so lonely and I feel that need for companionship.
I decided to do something about this and meet this girl through the internet for the 1st time (1st time ive ever done this) but it turned out she didn't like me and stopped talking to me an hour after we met, i'm guessing because I didn't have a license and I was making excuses (stuttering also) on why I don't have one. After that bad experience my confidence shot to the bottom and I stopped trying all together hoping some girl would fall into my lap but of course that didn't happen nor will it ever. I was going to ask my co worker out to the movies or something since I think she likes me but I just found out she's engaged :( I can't even read signals smh It seems like i'm going to be single forever. Can someone help?
I'm planning on finishing college if my transcripts go through this summer but I really don't want to go back, i hate classroom settings. It feels like i'm going to pass out or I get bad diarrhea
Getting a license is really hard, I almost killed my mother and sister trying to drive on the freeway, it was an horrible experience. Also I have a hard time focusing when driving, I always zone out and forget i'm driving, once i ran a stop sign on a four way stop because I didn't notice it, luckily no one was around.....
