Shortness of breath can also be extremely disturbing. One of the best ways to handle this type of physical response to stress and anxiety is to try and remind yourself that it is only a symptom of the anxiety and you are actually getting enough oxygen to your lungs. Sitting down and taking slow deep breaths can also prove to be helpful. Deep breathing exercises can also prove to be helpful in treating another common physical symptom of anxiety and stress, difficulty swallowing.
Dry mouth, another common symptom of anxiety and stress can be alleviated by taking small sips of purified water. You may find it helpful to make sure you always carry a bottle of purified water with you.
Sleep disorders, such as nightmares and problems staying asleep, can also become regular symptoms of anxiety and stress. Relaxation and breathing techniques as well as trying to maintain a regular sleep schedule can help with this symptom.

Anxiety physical symptom question?
Ok, I have an anxiety disorder.
I am also a major hypochondriac. I worry about my health and my body all the time.
I have been going to the bathroom, alot. Meaning, I get up in the morning, run to the bathroom, and then sit on the toilet for about 20 minutes having major gas and diarreha. I do this about 6 times a day. I have went to the doc, and I dont have the flu or any other symptoms. Can anxiety really do this? I get really gassy, and its getting to the point where I am afraid to leave home because I am afraid I will end up having a "#2 accident" in public. Also, when I drink alot of water, I get nauseated. I didn't used to do this, as I am very prone to bladder infections and I am used to drinking alot of water. I am also on my period, despite the fact that I am on the depo shot.
Maybe I am just worrying more than I should.
Any home remedys for this?
Also, I have two perscriptions, one for wellbutrin 150 mg and one for zoloft 50 mg. Which one has less side effects? I do have a very sensitive stomach and I need to choose a medication for my anxiety that will not upset my stomach, or make me loopy, etc.
I really, really hate pills. But i know I need to take something to help me beat this anxiety.
I want to get out and do things, but I have been living in the bathroom (or close near one) for the last 2 weeks! Help!
(I have been to the doc and he says nothing is wrong that he can tell.)
