Various Types of Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety is a feeling of unease. Anxiety is only considered to be a mental health problem when it is prolonged, severe and is interfering with everyday activities. Fortunately, most anxiety disorders are highly treatable with psychotherapy, drugs, or a combination of both. There are at least nine identified types of anxiety disorders, include generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, specific phobia, separation anxiety, school avoidance, and agoraphobia. Anxiety disorders in children can range from a simple adjustment disorder to more difficult and debilitating disorders such as panic disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder. It's normal to feel anxious when facing something difficult or dangerous, and mild anxiety can be a positive and useful experience. Excessive anxiety is often associated with other mental health problems, such as depression. Unfortunately, many people with anxiety disorders don't seek treatment because they do not believe they have a legitimate illness, or they fear the reaction of family and friends.
Sometimes anxiety can be associated with a physical illness, such as thyroid disorder. For this reason it's advisable to see your GP in order to rule out a physical cause. Symptoms occur with varying frequency and intensity but may include all of those listed above as well as trembling, chest pain, nausea, and fear. You may fear you are going crazy or dying. Some people may also have a sense of being detached from reality. Anxiety can be a long-term disorder where you feel worried most of the time about things that might go wrong. Cognitive behavioral therapy is often used, as is psychotherapy and stress management techniques. Drugs used to treat anxiety include selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, beta-blockers, and monoamine oxidase inhibitors. Often, a combination of therapies works best.
What are the types of Anxiety disorders?
There are several major types of anxiety disorders:
1. Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD): People with Generalized Anxiety Disorder feel anxious nearly all of the time, though they may not even know why.
2. Phobias: A phobia is an unrealistic or exaggerated fear of a specific object, activity, or situation that in reality presents little to no danger. Common phobias include fear of animals such as snakes and spiders, fear of flying, and fear of heights.
3. Social Phobia: Social Anxiety Disorder can be thought of as extreme shyness.
4. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD): It is characterized by unwanted thoughts or behaviors that seem impossible to stop or control.
5. Separation Anxiety: Separation anxiety is a normal part of child development.
6. panic attacks and Panic Disorder: Panic disorder is characterized by repeated, unexpected panic attacks.
Symptoms of Anxiety:
The symptoms can include:
1. Abdominal discomfort.
2. Rapid heartbeat or palpitations.
3. Shortness of breath.
4. Frequent urination
5. Feeling worried or uneasy all the time
6. An inability to concentrate
7. Depersonalisation.
Treatment For Anxiety disorders:
The treatment will depend upon which type of anxiety you are experiencing and how severe it is. Cognitive-behavior therapy is very effective in the treatment of anxiety disorders. Tranquilisers, such as benzodiazepine tablets, may help to relieve some short-term stress-related anxieties. However, they shouldn't be taken for long periods because of the risk of addiction. For this reason they aren't usually prescribed. Antidepressants can treat certain anxiety disorders such as generalised Anxiety Disorder, social phobia, OCD, and anxiety associated with depression.

My teacher may be harrassing me?
Ok so t I have this strange art teacher who has kind of been insulting me in class
Hes really weird but in a cool way hes like a monotone teacher who says gruesome sarcastic things that are actually pretty funny
to start off with I am a pretty awkward girl Im pretty quiet but I often come to class late( a really bad habit I have changed) and I half assed on work when this teacher knows im a pretty good artist
in other classes with different people Im pretty lovable but in that class Im quiet and awkward since im not really too cool with other students
with that in mind
it began when I asked him for string (at this time I was sitting in a group with people idk) he gave me string and said ok here you go dont choke and body though I dont know if the tension is that high
I kind of let it go and tried not to be sensitive about it
he told my favorite teacher(art teacher) that my project was crap because I made a seinfeld pop up book: The soup Nazi episode(x but it didnt quite pop up all the way. My teacher(my fav) was kinda mad and told me about it and said "like whats up with that guy!?" and after that he seemed noticeably mad
the next day I sat down and was reading a book on 1000 best movies and I was looking at a picture of groucho marx he stood next to my desk and just stared at it like wtf and I was mad about what he told my fav teacher so while he stared at the book I kinda mad dogged him and then he just walked away
you could tell he doesnt like me and often almost looks mad when i ask him for something
One time he sat at our desks and staring at me and he said " doesnt alma look like she could be a serial killer like she could start stabbing people with a knife like would you keep it down your getting blood everywhere!" my friend laughed and said you look more like a serial killer and he said yah I love walking into stores like captain crunch boom!"
next time he sat down while I was drinking water and said " (my name) when your drinking something and swish it around does anything ever come out" (insinuating that I dont brush my teeth which I do btw!) and I said "no" and he said " well it will" and I said "does that happen to you" and he said "sometimes"
and then one time I came in and put my head down and I heard him pretty much call me a homeless person and some kid that everyone hates and who does nothing laughed and was like "poor (my name)" but initially I put my head down because I hated being in that class cus of the teacher
And sometimes when he sits in our group Ill cover my face so he wont say anything and he jokes and draws cartoons for the other kids and shows them but he never shows me and when he asks me something I get really awkward and dont know what to say. Also this one time my friend was wearing a hoodie and I wear a Jimi Hendrix hoodie like everyday and I heard him from the next desk saying "yah Helen(the girl sitting next to me) is wearing a hoodie although shes a bit thin to be wearing a hoodie."
So its been pretty shitty but then again im not really myself in that class
I told my friend all of this and she said that he's an asshole and that I could report him for that but I dont really want to be a jerk about it and actually he has been a bit less mean
but still looks angry when I ask him somthing
but everytime I think of what he has said to me it kind of makes me sad last time ( I can be a weenie sometimes) it was enough to make me cry a little
and sometimes I wish I could come after school and tell him off and tell him the reason Im so quiet is because I have social anxiety disorder which im not proud to say I think i have
but yah I really dont know what to do
and the worse thing is that he himself was continuosly picked on and has said that he hated his high school..
also this one time I passed through his class afterschool to give him a project and hes kind of tall so I handed it too him and he said thank you and I nodded and looked up and noticed that his eyes were pretty red like if he was crying so I faked smile said mmhm walked away so i dont know if hes kind of has problems that he might be taking out on me? so i kind of feel bad for him at the same time
I wanted to tell my brother he probably wouldve done something about it but its pretty humiliating :(
So please help? any advice ?

Is it possible to have an allergic reaction to penicillin if it has been spilled on the floor?
I just started working at our local hospital as a housekeeper, and today was my first on the field day of training. My trainer and I were quick to enter a room following a patient's discharge, so quick that the nurse hadn't had time to remove the IV in the room. When they did come in to remove it, they spilled some (not a whole lot) of the contents on the floor. Later, after finishing and mopping the room roughly an hour or so later, my trainer commented on the weird smell being because of penicillin. I am allergic to penicillin. The only time I was administered the drug was when I was 6-years-old and I got hives shortly afterward.
Now, given the situation, would it be possible that I was in the room long enough with it that I could have possibly breathed in fumes, especially following the mop and the smell in the room? My skin is rather itchy right now, but I also have Generalized Anxiety Disorder so I'm concerned that part of it just might be in my head.
I was wearing gloves the entire time and there is very little chance I could have come into direct contact with the substance. (At one point I do remember I discovered a hole in my glove, but I do not believe it was while cleaning the penicillin room, but I am not 100% certain. I followed standard procedures and immediately washed my hands as soon as I noticed the very small tear.)
So...does anyone know whether or not this is possible, or if my anxiety is getting the best of me?
